Dayna was born in London, Ontario in 1947. From earliest memory, she has held a paint brush or a drafting pencil in her hand. She was born with a strong sense of design and a love of bright colour. Various art awards at a young age encouraged her to pursue art studies in secondary school. Mentored by art and drafting teachers, she entered post secondary architectural studies. Dayna graduated with honours from Ryerson University in Architectural Technology, and was awarded Page & Steele highest mark for architectural design in her final year. She went on to complete post-graduate studies at Ryerson University in Interior Design. Dayna was founder and owner of Dayna Law Interior and Architectural Design, Toronto, Ontario. Tutelage followed with prominent artists from 1973 to present in PEI, Ontario and Florida. Memberships have been held in various art groups – 1963 to present in PEI, Ontario and Florida and executive positions – Prince Edward County Arts Council, Board; Art in the County, Chair; Arts on Main Gallery, Secretary and Board Member, each in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Dayna has been a Prince Edward County Studio Tour member – 2010 to present. Her work has been shown in galleries and invitational shows in Canada and USA as well as juried shows with awards – 2003 to present, in Ontario and United States.
She was honoured to be elected into the Ontario Society of Artists in 2015 and the Colour and Form Society in 2021. She was juried into the Government of Ontario Permanent Art Collection Archives in 2020.
