Arts on Main Gallery is one of the longest-running Cooperative galleries in Ontario and one of the only galleries to exclusively represent artists from the Prince Edward County region. Our catchment area for artists includes all of Prince Edward County, extends west to Brighton, east to Napanee and to areas just north of Belleville. The gallery runs four shows per year of members’ work.
Our members participate in the running of the gallery by sitting half or full day shifts. This is usually 2-3 half-day shifts per month. As well, each member is asked to be involved in some of the day-to-day tasks of running a retail gallery. For example, this could be posting on social media, preparing refreshments for our openings, maintenance, special events, or tracking sales etc…
Members also gather for a quick meeting at the time when the current show comes down and a new one is about to begin.
If you are new to the area or perhaps have been working at your art practice and are now ready to show your work, our gallery is an excellent way to connect to a very welcoming art community in PEC.
We are currently looking for 2D, 3D and fine craft artists. We always strive to maintain an interesting balance and variety of work in the gallery.
What is the cost? Currently our members pay $100/month plus 20% commission on sold work, with a minimum commitment of one year.
