Renee Hiltz

Renee creates whimsical and abstract images using bold, unique forms and vibrant colours to realize her artistic vision. She is an award winning artist who has exhibited in group and juried shows across Ontario. Hiltz’s work is held in collections across Canada and internationally.

Trained professionally as a special needs teacher, Renee spent her career at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. In 2013 she was awarded a Prime Ministers Award for Teaching Excellence in recognition of her dedicated focus on the development of unique method for accessing the creative process in special needs children. In addition to a BFA and BEd from York University, Renee participates in many workshops and courses to enhance her painting expertise. After decades of teaching practice in Toronto she is now on her own artistic journey in Prince Edward County. Recently Renee has taught courses on abstract art and other topics for the Prince Edward County Arts Council.

Renee creates artwork from her studio in Wellington. She regularly posts new works on her Instagram account @reneehiltzart as well as other social media/online venues.
